Gators Swim & Dive Team

The mission of the Lindgate Manor Swim Club Gators Swim and Dive Team is to promote the enjoyment of competitive swimming and diving through positive motivation, sound stroke development and commitment to personal growth in a supportive team environment.  In addition, for the younger children we offer a Junior Gators swim lesson program.

Head coach

image0 copyChris Etherington was named Head Coach for Lindgate Manor Swim Club for the summer of 2021. Chris grew up in Kokomo, Indiana where he was state champ in the 100 Butterfly and later achieved his 2008 Olympic Trials cut. He and his family now reside in St Louis as he is Head Age Group coach for Parkway Swim Club. His coaching philosophy is to help better swimmers physically and mentally in the sport while providing a safe and fun family oriented environment.

“I am very excited and honored to be leading Lindgate Manor Swim Club. I am blessed to do what I love everyday while encouraging the youth that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to. Teaching and coaching swimming is important to me, because as scary as it is to be water safe, there is a FUN side of this sport!”

Assistant coach

Anna Smith is entering her second year as a full time assistant coach. Anna just finished her freshman year at Southeast Missouri State, studying physical education and math education. During breaks in the school year, Anna is an assistant coach for the Parkway Swim Club’s prep groups as well as Parkway’s red group program. Anna participated at the varsity level all four years at Kirkwood High School and was a 2020 graduate.  She’s been a Gator since she was 5 years old and can’t wait for her 14th year!

At this time (April 2021), the county guidelines are requiring pools to operate at 50% capacity. This will impact our swim meets and we are working with the coaches on modified meets to allow the swimmers to get a chance to compete. We are unsure if a conference will happen this year due to capacity issues. Any swim meets will continue to be on Monday evenings between 5-9pm.

Registration for the 2021 season is open and can be accessed through the Lindgate Team Unify Website

*2021 update*

We have been actively looking for a dive coach for this summer. Due to safety, they must have at least 2 years of experience coaching dive. If you know of someone with that experience, please let Amanda know

If we have not secured a dive team coach by the end of April, we will offer a dive clinic June 7-11 from 10:30am-12:30pm and private dive lessons at the pool in the afternoons and on weekends.

The Junior Gators program is a swim instructional program offered to member’s children to teach them swimming skills. It consists of mid-morning lessons with small groups. Once the gator can swim the length of a pool independently they can transition to the swim team program.

*2021 update* We are waiting on county guidelines to determine a junior gators season, please check back.
